This paper offers a comprehensive exploration of Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees the fundamental right to "Protection of Life and Personal Liberty." It delves into how the Indian judiciary has consistently broadened the interpretation of this concisely worded provision, transforming it into a cornerstone of human rights and dignity. The study meticulously analyzes a series of landmark judicial pronouncements that have progressively expanded the scope of Article 21. The analysis demonstrates the initial, narrower understanding of this right, primarily as a safeguard against arbitrary state action, and then tracks its evolution through pivotal Supreme Court decisions. These decisions have fundamentally redefined "procedure established by law" to incorporate principles of natural justice and due process. The paper further illustrates how the "right to life" has been expanded beyond mere physical existence to encompass a broad spectrum of rights essential for a dignified human life. This includes, among others, the right to livelihood, a clean environment, health, education, and privacy. Similarly, the paper examines how the judiciary has imbued "personal liberty" with a more expansive meaning, covering various aspects of individual autonomy and freedom from unwarranted state interference. By systematically dissecting these significant legal rulings, this paper elucidates the profound impact of the Supreme Court's interpretative role in establishing Article 21 as the most dynamic and far-reaching fundamental right, serving as a robust guardian of human rights and dignity in India. India has a history of being particularly susceptible to disasters specifically natural disasters considering its particular climatic characteristics and demographic features. India's susceptibility and vulnerability is greater than that of advanced nations due its social demography. Federal and healthcare systems have been put to the test as a result of the COVID 19 outbreaks over the world. Since no single jurisdiction can handle the situation on its own, the pandemic has highlighted the need to promote cooperative federalism. The constitution of India permits the Union government to take the initiative in collaborating with and assisting the states in exceptional situations like disasters. The Disaster Management Act 2005 and the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 provide the legal framework for these initiatives. The overlapping of jurisdiction raise pertinent question about the maintenance of basic structure doctrine of the constitution as during disasters the administration of India tilt towards more as unitary than federal. This paper discusses about the dynamics of centre-state relations in India during the time of disasters.

Cybersquatting refers to the act of intentionally register domain names that mimic established trademarks, aiming to profit from later selling them to the original trademark holders. The rapid expansion of the internet has intensified this problem, affecting businesses globally and giving rise to a significant area of conflict in intellectual property and domain name law. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers’ (ICANN) Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP), offer alternative arbitration mechanisms to deal with the issue of cybersquatting as traditional trademark law often falls short to address it sufficiently. This paper discusses the function of UDRP in tackling cybersquatting through an efficient arbitration process, including the procedural requirements necessary to initiate a domain dispute claim. Furthermore, the role of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in providing specialized arbitration and mediation for domain name conflicts is explored, highlighting the impartiality, expedited processes, and qualified adjudicators that WIPO offers to affected parties. The paper looks into the Indian approach where protection for domain names remains underdeveloped. Even with no laws concerning cybersquatting, Indian courts have taken recourse to common law and extended protection to domain names via the scope of passing off. The paper also seeks to analyze the effectiveness of introduction of the .IN Dispute Resolution Policy (INDRP) in curbing cybersquatting. Euthanasia often alluded to as mercy killing is a medically assisted slaying in which a doctor is being empowered to induce death in a patient who is potentially in prolonged pain due to illness. There has been a prolonged discussion in the global arena concerning legal issues on euthanasia. Recently a number of global regions have validated the praxis of euthanasia. These regions permit this practice of mercy killing on patients who have lost any desire for survival or are in hardships from a end-stage malady. The current investigation was taken to explore the praxis of euthanasia in distinct global nations and the legislations they have framed for this purpose. The United Nations has also shown a serious concern over the human rights laws while performing euthanasia. It was inferenced through this inquiry that though euthanasia is validated by many global nations, various intellectuals, jurists and religious experts suggest this practice of self killing as inhuman and should be invalidated.

In this research paper the authors have tried to elucidate the various ideals propounded by the holy book of Bhagavad Gita and have tried to throw some light on the relevance that it has in the modern-day world. Although in our country those in power or having authority shy away from recognising its influence on our legal systems mainly because of the reason that India is a secular country and the state cannot be seen as tilting towards a particular religion as the Constitution of our country expressly forbid the intermixing of religion and state power but authors have tried to put across the point as to how it is not a religious text but a book which shows us the right way of living our lives and how the tenets of Bhagavad Gita if adhered to, can actually lead to the egalitarian or even the utopian society of our dreams. The authors have further described the concepts of Dharma and Artha as propounded by the Bhagavad Gita and explained as to how it is even more relevant in the present day world which is filled with unending strife for power and perusal of materialistic desires which ultimately leads to lot of confusion and edginess in the present day world.

The First Prime Minister of India Shri Jawaharlal Nehru once commented that, “The emphasis of Ministerial form character of Government and that power resides in the Ministry and the Legislature, where the power of the President is one of great authority and dignity... The President of India is also the supreme Commander-in-Chief of defence forces...” The immunity enjoyed by President is extensive; the privileged communication with the Council of India, has to be seen in the perspective of enormous responsibility of the President of India in the constitutional framework. The instant paper is an attempt to look at varied facets of Constitutional privileges of President, Governor, Prime Minister, Council of Minister and their ever-increasing role for the welfare of citizenry in the realm of societal growth and development and upholding the noble ideals of the framers in light of testing the aforementioned enunciated powers and privileges with the touchstone of the Indian Constitution. Without concentration of power in single office, Dr. BR Ambedkar4 once said that an ideal executive should be stable and symbolise the Indian National unity, glory, inclusiveness and goes beyond the responsibility towards People of India. In sequitur it is averred that, President can have a high persuasive influence on the legislative setup. The ordinance making power is an important facet of the power of the President, though it has to be passed within 6 months of the starting of the session, provides legislative power also to the President of India.

Our country is a secular nation, but the way the term is understood there differs from how it is understood elsewhere in the globe. In India, secularism refers to more than just the absence of religious recognition by the state. Instead, it indicates that everyone is free to adhere to their own personal rules and that the state respects and honours all major world faiths. Distinct statutes have different maintenance-related clauses. But Section 125 of the 1973 Code of Criminal Procedure also contains a secular rule of maintenance. Hindus' personal laws contain their maintenance laws; Muslims' personal laws contain their maintenance laws. In addition, the CrPC's maintenance legislation is also provided; this law is secular in character and can be invoked by anybody, regardless of faith. Compared to other personal laws, the CrPC has a special characteristic in this area. The sole subject of this research endeavour is the person's wife.

The plea bargaining process is quickly gaining popularity in the resolution of legal issues across the world. In common law and civil law nations, the applicability, scope, and operation of plea bargaining are clearly dissimilar. A comparative study of India, the United States of America, and Italy has been done in this research to critically analyse these disparities in regard to various jurisdictions. The extent to which plea bargaining is more favourable than harmful is debatable. This is because the practice of plea bargaining is said to call into question the basic premise of a trial, which is to find the truth and administer justice. The reality that an immediate justice administration system is required in India is unarguable. The researcher seeks to determine whether plea bargaining in India, in its current form and structure, is sufficient to achieve that goal by contrasting its benefits and drawbacks in the context of the Indian judicial system, and later, proposing reforms in the realm of this modern dispute resolution mechanism.
