Author Guidelines

Manuscript preparation, OSCOLA citations, and submission requirements for JMDLR.

These guidelines set out how to prepare, anonymise, format, and submit manuscripts to JMDLR. Authors should review article-type word limits, OSCOLA citation requirements, and mandatory metadata before submission.

    Title Case (not ALL CAPS), maximum 20 words

    no author-identifying information in the manuscript file

Abstract and keywords

Structured abstract of 150–300 words. Provide 4–8 keywords in Title Case, separated by semicolons.

Citation style

JMDLR uses OSCOLA (4th edn) footnote citations for all submissions. Manuscripts using other styles will be returned for reformatting before review.

Author details (mandatory)

Every author must provide full name, institutional affiliation (department, institution, city, country), designation, institutional email, and ORCID iD. Affiliations and ORCID iDs are displayed on published articles.

Pagination policy

JMDLR follows continuous online-first pagination: each article begins at page 1 and is identified by volume, issue and article ID.

Submission

Manuscripts are submitted to submissions@jmdlr.com or via the website contact form. Submission does not guarantee acceptance. Received and Accepted dates are published with each article.
